AE Refrigeration Celebrates Apprentice of the Year Win for Second Time in Three Years
AE Refrigeration is thrilled to announce that Ryan Smith, one of its outstanding young engineers, has been awarded the prestigious Institute of Refrigeration Scotland Apprentice of the Year Award. The accolade was presented on Thursday, November 7, at the annual Institute of Refrigeration Scotland dinner held in Glasgow, attended by industry leaders, colleagues, and supporters of Scotland’s thriving refrigeration sector.
This award marks a significant milestone for AE Refrigeration, as it is the second time in just three years that an AE Refrigeration engineer has been recognised as Apprentice of the Year. Ryan follows in the footsteps of Scott Ballantyne, his fellow engineer, who won the same award in 2021. The back-to-back achievement highlights AE Refrigeration’s commitment to developing Scotland’s brightest talent in the field.
Alan Burns, owner of AE Refrigeration, expressed his pride in both engineers, applauding their hard work, dedication, and exceptional skill. “Ryan and Scott’s achievements are a testament to their commitment and passion for the industry, our focus at AE Refrigeration has always been on nurturing raw talent and providing the support and training needed to help young engineers reach their full potential. This award is proof that dedication to mentoring and skill development yields outstanding results.”
"Ryan has displayed great expertise and innovative approach to complex refrigeration challenges, while Scott continues to bring excellence to every project. The awards not only underscore their individual talent but also reinforce AE Refrigeration’s reputation as a training ground for Scotland’s top engineers"
